GD that battle with Xiao Bai was fantastic . Seeing the Seven Devils come out with their Spirit Avatars was hype asf--they've become so much more powerful. Except for TS using his domains, which were actually sealed/restrained as I recall, this was almost exactly how I imagined it in the novel. I always liked how the author introduced XB here--recognizing XW as kin and making the hasty assumption/misunderstanding about TS. It's naturally what would have happened and fits perfectly with her tempestuous, impulsive personality. As usual it was great to see how Tang Sect is coming along. I have to laugh at their dialogue LOL.

They skipped that scene, maybe trying to polish XW’s image as a gentle cute bunny. In the novel, TS actually asked XW if she hurt her teeth biting him (and that was no sarcasm from TS, he was seriously concerned!). 🤣🤣

I also hesitated wondering if TS’s domains were also restricted but actually, he can still use it, just not as powerful, as his 7th ring Martial Soul True Form cannot be utilised.

I grinned seeing how far Tang sect has come, they're hella loyal too, imagine having such powerful loyal allies like them. Tang will be more than surprised and beyond ecstatic, especially as he reminisces about his past selves sect, worth more than a decade of birthday presents!! Also can't wait until he shows his fathers/uncles sect what he's achieved!!

Kudos to the production theme! They really know how to pep up the episode making it far more interesting than it was in the novel.

Imo the second trial is actually the second most boring trials. The only hype is the upcoming 7th ring abilities of Fatty and Oscar. 🤩 But otherwise, it’s not as striking as other arcs. I also really like it that they insert Tang Sect to liven up the feel. The four elders are much more engaging than the “fat merchant” comic relief character.

As I’ve mentioned before, many plot lines and characters were not well-developed by the author and this is exactly what the anime/donghua is trying to make up for. It always feels very one-sided when you read the novel because just like this Seagod island arc, all attention is on them passing the trials but nothing about Tang Sect or other characters. And when they finally returned to the continent, the readers were told this and that has already happened. It feels so much like an afterthought from the author. But thank God, the anime is balancing that nicely by showing the events that took place outside of Seagod island concurrently.

This 2nd trial is really nothing much but it builds up the momentum for Xiao Bai as one of the pivotal side characters of SeaGod Island and her relationship with TS. Sadly no waifu here.
